These are really common in Australia but this is the first Praying Mantis I've seen in almost 6 years of American living. He was such a happy bug I pulled out the camera. He was just hanign out on the patio, basking in some morning sun. I didn't get many shots of him that I felt good about posting and this one is a bit iffy with the depth of field but I thought it looked artisic all the same.

Wow-such a nice capture of his eyes close up-nicely captured. And I'm suprised the US doesn't have them much.
